WHO WE ARe

Origins of Humboldt and Crocker

Before there was the city of Crocker Missouri there was a small trading post named Humboldt, located very near where Crocker is today. This small trading post was established in 1854 and was a central hub in the area for many years. It was one of the main reasons that people initially began settling in the area, as people wanted to be close to a supply of goods and services. There was also the Humboldt Inn that was visited by many people throughout the years. The inn also served as a staying place for many of the railroad workers who built the railroad that traverses through the center of what is now Crocker.

In 1866 the Frisco Railroad was completed just to the east of what was known as Humboldt. E.H Crocker was an early stockholder in the Frisco Railroad and the town of Crocker, named after Mr. Crocker, grew up around the train depot. Once the railroad was completed the city of Crocker began to expand and eventually consumed the area known as Humboldt.

Gary Homer

Gary Homer owns and manages Humboldt Farms and Homes. He is a military veteran with over 22 years of active-duty service. Originally from a small town in upstate New York, Gary settled in Crocker after separating from service at Fort Leonard Wood. He and his family stayed in Missouri after separation due to the extremely affordable cost of living and the close knit and friendly communities. Gary was extremely fortunate in finding his way into real estate, as he had a government job that was going well until the COVID pandemic, and he was subsequently laid off. He had some very good friends that helped him into real estate and coached him through his first few years. Realizing that he had a knack for understanding real estate and was very good with people, Gary began to do extremely well. In his first year of real estate, he won the Pulaski County Board of Realtors Rookie of the Year award. This award is highly competitive and is given to new agents with the highest number of sales in their first year. Gary made over 10 million dollars in sales in just the last 3 years and have many very satisfied clients. He is a certified Military Relocation Specialist with the National Association of Realtors. This certification, coupled with his many years of service means he knows and understands the challenges that a PCS move can bring. He is also well versed with VA loans and the VA loan process. Gary is also on the board of directors for the Realtors Land Institute (RLI) for the State of Missouri. The RLI is a group of Realtor’s that specialize in land. As such, Gary is one of the most well-versed land agents in and around Fort Leonard Wood.

Growing up as a farmer, now owning his own farm and as a passionate hunter, Gary knows land and what to look for in helping you choose your next piece of ground.

Gary’s goal when opening his brokerage was to incorporate his years of values and ethics into his growing business. He still upholds those values and ethics today as he is totally transparent and honest and conducts his business with that same sense of honesty and fairness. His goal was to bring trust back into the real estate market.
